FUCHS Verwaltungs AG receives TOP 100 award for its innovation
This award is presented to particularly innovative medium-sized companies as part of an innovation competition – now for the 28th time. Based on the scientific selection process, FUCHS Verwaltungs AG was particularly impressive in the category “innovative processes and organization” within size category B (51 to 200 employees).
FUCHS has managed to completely reorganize and restructure the organization of a leading medium-sized manufacturer of innovative crane systems in just five years. For decades, the common on-going trend of outsourcing, was already counteracted in 2015 by reintegrating processes to achieve a higher level of self-sufficiency.
FUCHS decided to bring welding, painting and mechanical work in-house step by step, which had been outsourced to external service providers for a long time. Subsidiaries for modern surface technology (FUCHS Oberflächentechnik GmbH) and for mechanical processing and CNC machining (FUCHS Produktionstechnik GmbH) emerged in 2016 and 2020 through spin-offs from the former FUCHS Fördertechnik AG. In addition, the “Crane Technology & Conveyor Technology” business unit was also transferred to the subsidiary FUCHS Fördertechnik GmbH and FUCHS Fördertechnik AG simultaneously became FUCHS Verwaltungs AG – as the parent company and roof of the corporate group.
Over the years, FUCHS Oberflächentechnik GmbH and FUCHS Produktionstechnik GmbH have established themselves as more than just in-house suppliers for FUCHS Fördertechnik. Up to a proud 60% of their sales are now also acquired through orders from external customers, a very positive development overall, especially considering the ongoing corona pandemic. This win-win situation is further reinforced by the additional flexibility gained in being able to respond to customer needs at any time and independently of interrupted supply chains, as well as the strength of a better monitoring and quality assurance for the reintegrated processes.
